And now for the second of my promised “favorites” lists. We started with 10 of the lovely ladies I was lucky enough to work with during my career, and will top it off with 20 (in 2 parts) I definitely wish I’d gotten the chance to.
With such a long list to write, and it could have been longer, I’ll keep it limited to my thoughts on the performer with links to their personal sites, Twitter accounts, my store, or at least somewhere you can learn more of their details. Some of these ladies are still in action, but many of them have long since retired from the adult industry. So we’ll have to take what we can get.
Why the doubling in list size? That’s simple – my career was less than two years total. Many, many amazing women came before and after my short era. There are no strict timelines or rules to this selection – they’re just beautiful, talented and standout women who caught my eye over the years – so please just indulge me, and enjoy. In alphabetical order:
Abella Danger
Abella usually appears in the top 5 “most popular” filters on all of today’s major porn sites. Because she’s a big deal. Miss Danger is known for her outstanding (as in, outstanding) backside, her looks are just a little outside of the norm in terms of the popular platinum Stepford Wives of porn, and if our career arcs had been aligned I definitely would have had all the time in the world to work with this smoking modern superstar. While she is known for her steamy and acrobatic scenes, she also loves to share her love yoga or discuss serious topics like mental health on her social media. Though Abella Danger creates sizzling content, there’s no denying that she brings a lot more than just sexy videos and photos to the table. Keep on kicking butt, girl!
Amber Lynn
An absolute legend of the industry, I definitely had Amber on my radar after dipping my toe into all things adult while growing up and moving towards my own xxx ambitions. From winning an AVN Award, to featuring in main stream movies, her animal activism, to selling out shows at the hottest nightclubs – Amber Lynn has done it all in her four-decade-plus career. Her craft has won her legions of dedicated fans and made her one of the most popular adult stars in her field. Especially notable is her longevity in the business, current activity on social media, and absolutely amazing radio show which I’ve been enjoying for several weeks now.
Aurora Snow
With her red hair, larger-than-life attitude and mischievous smirk, to this day Aurora Snow is adored by fans and industry insiders alike. Aurora transgressed traditional norms by not just being a sex symbol, but through her brains, talent and presence. From starring in 36+ feature adult films, to appearing on various talk shows and in mainstream magazines, Aurora Snow makes sure to forever remain true to her values. Snow has been able to make a name for herself not only within the porn industry but also as a respected and prolific writer who has been widely published. Her books and articles span everything from erotica to politics – and they’ve all been thought-provoking reads. A shining example of a second act, and successful career, after porn ends.
Belladonna
Talk about someone who caught my eye, and kept it, from the very first time I laid eyes on this remarkable woman – that’s gotta be Belladonna. She went from dancer, to fast star, to production company boss, to a Paul Thomas Anderson movie, and all over the course of a decade (and a bit). It will be difficult to find anyone “in the know” who won’t agree that her work was some of the raunchiest, most creative and boundary-pushing in the history of our industry – just, wow. After all the success she had during her limelight, it looks like she’s chosen to become a private civilian. While I respect that immensely – I kinda miss her. Bella, where are you, and what are you doing? Inquiring Vanessas want to know!
Brandi Love
While researching for a possible return to “the biz” about 3 years ago (which I obviously semi-eventually got around to), I caught a CamSoda show Brandi Love did with her husband and was immediately struck by her looks, fitness, personality and approachable persona. I’ll be honest – I noticed we likely lined up politically as well. It’s no surprise then that’s she’s gone from amateur, to pro, to one of the most undeniably successful “MILF” stars in the porn industry’s history – and that’s a crowded field. Brianna Love
Brianna was one of the first ladies I considered for this list. A friend pointed herout to me a few years ago, and I was disappointed to learn she’d retired after a 5-year career… so I’d missed the boat. I don’t know what I adored more: her mole, tinier bust, cute little nose, adorable voice, or that absolutely unforgettable bottom. I still haven’t decided, and probably never will. Brianna’s slight dimensions are as unique as her other adorable traits, and she definitely stood out among a sea of identical pinups during her time. She has (deliberately) drifted off everyone’s radar, but I wish her well and would have loved to work with her. Damn, would I have ever loved that.
Charity Crawford
There is no shortage of gorgeous adult stars working today. It can be hard to tell them apart, or find anything unique to latch onto, due to the diva deluge. That’s not a criticism, though – we’re just spoiled for choice in 2023. Regardless, the moment I saw a photo of Charity Crawford, the world stopped for a second. Was it the fit and slender body? The gorgeous face? Those unique eyebrows? It didn’t matter – I had to learn more. She shines on screen with so much enthusiasm, it’s no wonder she’s been able to build up a large fanbase in such a short amount of time. An absolutely gorgeous lady I’ve been keeping an eye on and had to add to this list. Best of luck, Charity, you definitely stand out to me and I hope you continue to be successful in this crazy line of work.
Felicia
One of the first female stars to insist on working with women only (and with the exception of one scene she shot with her fiancée at the time it looks like she stuck to her guns), but that didn’t rule me out, and so Felecia has long been a personal favorite. Alas, while we were both active and working at the same time during the naughty 90s – a carnal collaboration was not meant to be. All I can do now is enjoy her impressive body of girl-on-girl work (while kicking myself). Such a face, such a body, such a missed opportunity, Felicia! If I could turn back time… I’d have had my agent call your agent and we surely would have “done some business” together.
Gauge
Someone once told me that my performances paved the way for future generations of adult stars, and they used Gauge as an example. Already familiar (and in love) with her gusto, unique diminutive stature (she is one of the shortest porn stars ever), and willingness to take her scenes to new levels of debauchery in the best way – I was beyond flattered. Specifically, I remember her “handstand anal” scene from the early 2000s which I’d encourage everyone to seek out. My favorite little lady, maybe I’ll drop Gauge a line to say hello. Looks like she’s proudly active on Twitter and Instagram – for which we should all be thankful.
Jenna Haze
One of the reasons I love Jenna is because she always seemed to love her work. Performance after performance, she definitely helped spearhead the rise of “gonzo” and has a special place in adult history. The winner of more industry awards than you can count, after getting started around 2001 (only missed her by 4 years!) she worked exclusively with women for a time, but obviously that didn’t last. Jenna Haze hung up her thong in 2012, and now spends time as an author, student and public speaker, who never shies away from her time in the adult biz. A very impressive lady I would have worked with in a second. For much longer than a second.
I hope you enjoyed the first half of my wish list. I think my favorite part of putting it together (once the writing was done) was spending time perusing and choosing which sexy photographs to include with each starlet’s paragraph. I did not hate that process.
